Project Management Institute (PMI) offers a professional certification known as the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) for individuals seeking to gain more responsibility or add project management skills into their current role. This certification indicates knowledge of the principles and terminology within A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide), which outlines generally recognized best practices in project management.
A group of subject-matter experts, identified by PMI, developed a list of learning objectives, divided by chapters of PMBOK Guide. All the questions of the examination are mapped against the CAPM Examination Content Outline to ensure that an appropriate number of questions are in place for a valid examination.
