The Program Closure phase is the activities necessary to retire or transition program benefits to a sustaining organization and formally close the program in a controlled manner.
The Program Closure phase of the program life cycle includes the following tasks:
- Complete a Program Performance Analysis Report: Compare actual values to planned values to determine performance.
- Conduct Program Closure: Follow the governance framework boundaries.
- Execute Transition and Close-Out: Perform administrative and PMIS closure, archive documents, and transfer ongoing activities to the functional organization.
- Conduct Post-Review Meetings: Present performance reports to obtain feedback and capture lessons learned.
- Report Lessons Learned: Archive best practices and lessons learned to the knowledge repository for future programs and organizational improvement.
