Audit Procedure

When you submit your application, you’re agreeing to adhere to the audit process terms. While every application is subject to an audit, only a portion of them are chosen for audit.

Should your application be selected for audit, you’ll receive an email notification before you’re required to pay the certification fee. This electronic notification will furnish comprehensive instructions on how to meet the audit process requirements.

During an audit, you’ll need to provide supporting documentation, including:

  • Copies of your diploma or its global equivalent
  • Signatures from your project or program supervisors or managers, as listed in the experience verification section of your application

You have a 90-day window to submit the requested documentation. If you can provide the necessary documents to fulfill the audit process terms, your audit materials will be reviewed upon receipt. You can access your audit package through your https://my.pmi.org dashboard. Once all the information is downloaded and received, you’ll be able to submit your audit package.

It’s important to note that you cannot proceed with the certification process until you fulfill the audit requirements.

After successfully completing the audit, you’ll be prompted to make the certification fee payment. Following this, the panel review will commence. Within approximately 60 days, you’ll receive notification about your eligibility to sit for the PgMP exam based on your panel review performance.

Incomplete submissions won’t be processed and will result in an audit failure. Opting not to comply with the audit will also result in an audit failure and a one-year suspension period to apply for any of PMI’s certifications.

Please be aware that while audit selection is largely random, PMI reserves the right to audit any candidate at any point, even after certification has been granted. If you fail to meet the audit requirements after obtaining certification, you won’t be entitled to a refund.
