PMI encourages candidates to apply for all certifications through the online certification system for a streamlined and efficient process.

Before You Begin

✅ Ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements for certification.
✅ Gather and prepare the necessary information required for your application.

Application Process & Guidelines

  • Once you start an online application, you cannot cancel it.
  • You can save your progress, return later, and edit any previously entered information.
  • The application remains open for 90 days, and PMI will send periodic email reminders to complete it.
  • Before submitting, you must read and agree to the PMI Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and the Certification Application/Renewal Agreement.

How to Record Your Experience & Education

📌 Experience:

  • Use the Experience Verification section in the online application.
  • Experience does not have to be paid work, but it must be in a professional setting.
  • School projects or personal event planning do not qualify.
  • Record each project separately, regardless of how many projects you include.

📌 Education:

  • You can record all project risk management-related education, regardless of when it was completed.
  • The coursework must be finished before submitting your application.
  • The content must specifically focus on project risk management.
