I Did It! 🎉 Officially a PMI PfMP!

What a journey! After months of preparation, I’m proud to say I’ve achieved my PMI Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) certification! 🚀
This wasn’t an easy road. My experience as a Software Delivery Manager played a huge role in helping me succeed, but even more valuable was my work as a trainer. Delivering courses on strategy, portfolio management, organizational project management, and PMO development gave me the chance to exchange insights with senior leaders from incredible organizations. Learning from them added so much to my understanding of portfolio management—and now, here we are!

How I Prepared 📝
I kept it simple:
📌 The Standard for Portfolio Management (3rd & 4th editions)
📌 Study materials from KnowledgeMap (which, by the way, is absolutely amazing!)
📌 PfMP preparation course by Anatolii Savin on KnowledgeMap
That’s it. No secret tricks. If you put in the time, these resources are more than enough.

I’ll drop my final stats in the comments—if you’re aiming for PfMP, let this be your guide. Scoring 75% in all domains should be enough to pass. I hit “Above Target” in all, so you can use this as a reference.

The Exam Experience… Mixed Feelings 😅
I booked an 8 AM slot this Monday—the only one available in the coming weeks across London test centers. Pearson Vue asked me to come 30 minutes early, so being the responsible candidate, I arrived 45 minutes early… only to find out the test center doesn’t open until 7:45.
And of course, London decided to be freezing cold that morning. ❄️ So there I was, wandering around looking for a café open at 7:15 AM (not an easy task, trust me).
I left my feedback in the post-exam survey, but honestly, this is something that needs fixing. Every single candidate booking an 8 AM exam in a Pearson Vue center faces this issue. Hoping Pearson VUE and fantastic team at PMI lead by Pierre Le Manh can collaborate to improve this for future candidates.

PfMP #6 in Ukraine! 🇺🇦
And here’s a fun fact – thanks to my good friend Anatolii Savin, we started a friendly competition between countries. With my PfMP, Ukraine now has 6 PfMPs, putting us ahead of Turkey (5 PfMPs). 😆 Let’s keep this race going, guys, I am counting on PMI Ukraine Chapter 🇺🇦 to help with this!
A huge thank you to my mentor Anatolii Savin – his PfMP prep course was my main preparation tool, and I couldn’t have done it without it. Also, big shoutout to everyone in the course – Viktoriia Honcharova, Violeta Saviechyna, PMP®, Oleksii Lynnik, Irena, Victor, I’m waiting to celebrate your PfMP success in the coming months! 🎯
