If you work on agile teams or your organization is adopting agile practices, the PMI-ACP® certification is an excellent choice to validate your skills. It serves as formal recognition of your real-world, hands-on experience as a contributing member of an agile team.
Before you apply, you must meet specific experience and education requirements. You will need to document your agile experience and training, so it’s best to gather and organize this information ahead of starting your application.
Eligibility Requirements for PMI-ACP Certification
-
A secondary degree (high school diploma, GED, or global equivalent).
-
24 months (2 years) of agile project experience within the last 5 years.
(Note: A current PMP® certification satisfies this requirement but is not mandatory.) -
28 hours of training in agile practices, frameworks, and methodologies.
Candidates who hold a third-party certification or have completed a GAC-accredited core project management course are considered pre-approved for the training requirement.
If you do not already have a certificate confirming 28 contact hours of training in agile practices, you can generate one through KnowledgeMap:

Important Notice: Prepare Seriously for the PMI-ACP Exam
Passing the PMI-ACP exam requires significant preparation and dedication. While high-quality training resources can support your learning, no training system can guarantee success.
On exam day, you will be alone in the examination room with the question set — no books, notes, smartphones, or external assistance are allowed. Only your knowledge, preparation, and focus will help you succeed.
If you are not ready to commit the necessary time, energy, and focus, it’s better to postpone your preparation rather than risk wasting your resources. Approach your PMI-ACP journey with seriousness and determination — your future deserves it!
